ACACIA SENEGAL GUM
Acacia Senegal gum, also known as gum Arabic, is a natural soluble fiber obtained from the hardened sap of various species of acacia legume trees.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Acacia Senegal gum is used as a binder to hold or adhere spray-dried flavor to our dental floss.
HOW IS IT MADE?

Acacia Senegal gum is a naturally-occurring, renewable resource. Hardened sap is harvested from the bark of acacia trees, and then milled into a powder form.
WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?
There are synthetic alternatives to Acacia Senegal gum and others derived from waxy maize from corn, but they may not be as effective as Acacia Senegal gum and the synthetic versions do not meet our Stewardship Model standards for natural, responsible and sustainable.
IS THIS THE RIGHT OPTION FOR ME?
Acacia Senegal gum is nontoxic and Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).1
