Soybean oil is obtained from the soybean plant, Glycine soja. Soybean oil is the oil obtained from soybeans.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Plant derived botanical ingredients like soybean oil were among the very first beauty products used in ancient times.
HOW IS IT MADE?
Our Stewardship Model guides us to select ingredients which have been processed in a manner that supports our philosophy of human and environmental health.
Soybean oil is derived from pressing soybeans, which is then refined and purified.
WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?
Other materials that can be used for this purpose include synthetic waxes, petroleum waxes, silicones and other modified oils, but the synthetic alternatives do not meet our Stewardship Model standards for natural, responsible and sustainable.
IS THIS THE RIGHT OPTION FOR ME?
Soybean oil has a long history of safe use in personal care products. It is also permitted for direct addition to food by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
