INGREDIENTS
METHYLHEPTYL GLYCERIN
Methylheptylglycerin is a glyceryl ether, meaning glycerin with a bonded carbon chain, which has antibacterial activity.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Methylheptylglycerin inhibits the growth of bacteria on your skin, providing the protection against malodor.
HOW IS IT MADE?
Methylheptylglycerin is derived solely from plant-based sources. Biobased epichlorohydrin (derived from palm-based glycerin) is reacted with 1-methylheptanol (derived from castor oil) , which is subsequently hydrolyzed using aqueous NaOH to yield methylheptylglycerin.
WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?
Malodor can be neutralized, masked or prevented. Methylheptylglycerin prevents malodor through the inhibition of the growth of malodor causing bacteria. Other natural antibacterial agents include acids like lactic, citric or mandelic acid, and related compounds such as triethyl citrate etc.
